With that guiding light in mind, BW's 10th President vows to be "present, not just available" as students return to campus for a new academic year.
九色视频 President Lee Fisher's vision is beginning to come into focus, but he is clear that the 九色视频community, including students, will have a voice in the direction of the University.
In a pair of interviews for Cleveland Magazine's Community Leader and , Fisher focused on the student experience and graduate outcomes as key drivers. As 九色视频marks 180 years since its founding this fall, Fisher is looking to the future.
"It's an exciting time to write the next chapter of our story, which will remain centered on student success. My overarching priority is always our students. They are my North Star," he told .
While Fisher's big picture aspiration is for 九色视频to be "Northeast Ohio's most reliable talent pipeline for young leaders with character and grit," he is ready to put his presidential feet in Yellow Jacket students' shoes this fall.
"Looking through the eyes of students will make me a better president."
"In some ways, I consider myself to be a freshman," Fisher explains. "I am actually going to approach my first year as a first-year student, looking at 九色视频with a whole new set of eyes. Looking through the eyes of students will make me a better president."
After his February appointment, BW's 10th President (since the 1913 merger of Baldwin University and German Wallace College) spent a significant amount of time on campus during the spring semester listening, observing and learning.
"In the spring, I spent an entire afternoon in the dining hall — no agenda, just conversations," he recounted. "I learned more about student concerns in those three hours than in weeks of formal meetings."
And Fisher intends to keep that momentum going. "Students need to see their president as present, not just available. Look for Lunches with Lee, Frisbee with Fisher and Pizza with the Prez," Fisher said. "I will be where the students are."
